It takes an industry. We have made that statement numerous times since March. So much so that it has become a daily affirmation for many. The way the movie industry is pulling together during this unprecedented time is a vivid reminder that for the Pioneers Assistance Fund, our role in the industry is clear—help industry workers make it through this challenging time.
A MESSAGE FROM KYLES DAVIES, CHAIRMAIN OF THE BOARD
The Pioneers Assistance Fund has been a helping hand to industry workers dealing with accident, illness, or injury for over 80 years. In 2020, we have been challenged to our maximum ability, providing financial stipends and council for 9,000 people—and we are ready to help another 9,000 if needed.
We cannot predict the future, but we are confident that many of the 9,000 people that we have assisted this year will need additional help if they are going to stay in the industry. People who have dedicated their working lives to the motion picture industry have been managing on 30-50% reduced salary or no salary since April 2020. Their employers are fighting the good fight to stay in business. The workers love their jobs and want to stay in their long-time trade.
So once again—it takes an industry. Donate today and help us provide workers with stipends to cover housing, healthcare needs, and unfortunate circumstances. The Pioneers Assistance Fund has been a safety net for industry workers for many decades. A gift from you will ensure that our fellow industry members always have somewhere to turn, to help their lives get back on track.
WE UNDERSTAND, NOW IS A CHALLENGING TIME FOR EVERYONE WORKING IN THE MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY. WE ASK THAT YOU CONSIDER A DONATION OF ANY AMOUNT, SO WE CAN HELP OUR COLLEAGUES SURVIVE THIS UNPRECEDENTED TIME—NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES.
The thank you notes from industry workers have been overwhelming and moving; please take a moment to read just a few of the examples of how the Pioneers Assistance Fund is making a difference now more than ever. Happy Holidays and Cheers for a better 2021.
– Kyle Davies, Chairman of the Board

“I want to thank you so much for the generous grant, it is buying groceries this week. We are so fortunate to have an organization that helps those in the movie theater business. There are very few such organizations out there.”
ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
The Pioneers Assistance Fund provides financial aid and supportive counseling to individuals who work in theatrical exhibition, distribution and vendors exclusive to either sector, who are encountering an illness, accident or injury. A team of social workers confidentially assesses the needs and financial difficulties of motion picture industry members and provides aid to support health and well-being when income and assets are limited.
