What is a FEMA Grant: A FEMA grant is a form of federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for eligible individuals, organizations, and institutions. FEMA grants are available for projects related to disasters or emergencies, both before and after they occur.

Disaster Distress Helpline

It’s normal for hurricanes to cause people to experience emotional distress. Feelings such as overwhelming anxiety, constant worrying, trouble sleeping, and other depression-like symptoms are common responses before, during, and after these types of storms.

The Disaster Distress Helpline (DDH) is the first national hotline to provide year-round disaster crisis counseling. This toll-free, multilingual crisis support service is available 24/7 to all residents of the U.S. and its territories experiencing emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters.

How to apply for natural disaster assistance from the Pioneers Assistance Fund:

The minimum three-year employment eligibility is waived for natural disaster assistance:

A one-time emergency stipend is available for active/current movie theater employees impacted by a natural disaster.

You may be eligible for further assistance if you have worked in a movie theater for three years or more and have an additional need. Please describe your situation in the comment box at the bottom of the intake form, and a social worker will contact you with further instructions and documentation requirements.
