American Dietetic Association

With nearly 70,000 members, the American Dietetic Association is the nation's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. The web-site contains a wealth of nutrition information for consumers and the media, featuring approximately 5,000 pages of content from news releases and consumer tips to Nutrition Fact Sheets, consumer FAQ’s and the Good Nutrition Reading List.

Food and Nutrition Information Center, U.S. Department of Agriculture

The Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) at the National Agricultural Library (NAL) has been a leader in food and human nutrition information dissemination since 1971. FNIC's web site provides a directory to credible, accurate, and practical resources for consumers, nutrition and health professionals, educators and government personnel. Visitors can find printable format educational materials, government reports, research papers and more.

International Food Information Council

IFIC's mission is to communicate science-based information on food safety and nutrition to health and nutrition professionals, educators, journalists, government officials and others providing information to consumers. IFIC is supported primarily by the broad-based food, beverage and agricultural industries.


U.S. Department of Agriculture Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion 

The center improves the health and well-being of Americans by developing and promoting dietary guidelines based upon scientific research. It provides several links to food guides, such as MyPyramid.gov.

This national professional organization represents physical therapists. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research and education

Body Positive

Body Positive explores taking up occupancy inside your own skin, rather than living above the chin until you're thin. It offers a set of ideas that may help people find greater well-being in the body they have.

National Association for Health and Fitness 

This nonprofit organization promotes physical fitness, sports and healthy lifestyles. It provides news and information, and sponsors fitness events, such as the National Employee Health and Fitness Day.

Shape Up America!

Shape Up America! is a high profile national initiative to promote healthy weight and increased physical activity in America. Involving a broad-based coalition of industry, medical/health, nutrition, physical fitness, and related organizations and experts, Shape Up America! Shape Up America! is committed to providing credible, science-based health messages in a distinctive new way so that people will understand the importance of healthy weight and increased physical activity.
